G234 Advanced Portfolio in Media - Film Trailer

Tasks

Produce a promotion package for a new film, to include a teaser trailer, together with two of the following three options:
- a website homepage for the film;
- a film magazine front cover, featuring the film;
- a poster for the film.

Marking Grid
Level 1 0–14 marks - There is “possibly incomplete” and “minimal evidence”:
Level 2 15–23 marks - There is “basic level of ability”:
Level 3 24–31 marks - There is “proficiency”:
Level 4 32–40 marks - There is evidence of “excellence” in the creative use of most of
the following technical skills:
- holding a shot steady, where appropriate;
- framing a shot, including and excluding elements as appropriate;
- using a variety of shot distances as appropriate;
- shooting material appropriate to the task set;
- selecting mise-en-scène including colour, figure, lighting, objects and setting;
- editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer;
- using varied shot transitions and other effects selectively and appropriately for the task set;
- using sound with images and editing appropriately for the task set;
- using titles appropriately.
